Teaching Educators About Micronesian Students
Teaching Educators About Micronesian Students (TEAMS). This PREL website contains resources for educators working in schools with Pacific island students who have left their home islands. Included is an overview of the islands, and suggestions for teachers in establishing a culturally sensitive classroom environment. Teacher Resource on Selected Pacific Cultural Topics (Teach ReSPCT) provides an array of cultural information about the islands from which these students moved.
Pacific Archive of Digital Data for Learning and Education (PADDLE)

The focus of PADDLE is to provide access to all relevant education policy, planning and development material from the participating countries. The site provides full text access to a comprehensive collection of Pacific education material including publications from the participating Ministries of Education such as strategic plans, education legislation, curriculum frameworks and school policies. PADDLE also includes material from other organizations including UNESCO, the Asian Development Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Commonwealth of Learning, Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
Micronesian Seminar
Micronesian Seminar (MicSem. MicSem is a research-pastoral institute founded by the Catholic Church in 1972. Its main mission is community education, although it has engaged in social research and history. MicSem's goal is to assist the people of Micronesia in reflecting on life in their islands under the impact of change in recent years.

Education for the Homeless
National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH). The NCH is a national advocacy network of homeless persons, activists, service providers, and others committed to ending homelessness through public education, policy advocacy, grassroots organizing, and technical assistance.
Equity Education
Equity Center at the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory. The Equity Center is committed to helping public schools and communities incorporate the key components of educational equity into policies and practices to ensure each student receives what he or she needs to succeed.
Linguistic and Multicultural Connections
National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE). NABE promotes educational excellence and equity through bilingual education. The association publishes a variety of resources concerning the education of language-minority students in American schools.
National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME). This national website provides links to a variety of useful multicultural reference sites.
National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA). The NCELA collects, analyzes, and disseminates information relating to the effective education of linguistically and culturally diverse learners in the U.S.
Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). TESOL's mission is to develop the expertise of its members and others involved in teaching English to speakers of other languages to help them foster effective communication in diverse settings while respecting individuals' language rights.

U.S. Department of Education (U.S. ED) Office of Migrant Education. The U.S. ED Office of Migrant Education works to improve teaching and learning for migratory children.
Parent, Family, and Community
National Center for Family and Community Connections with Schools (NCFCCS). The NCFCCS provides research-based information and resources that can be used to effectively connect schools, families, and communities. The Center provides resources to assist educators, families, and community members with research-based information to take action and make connections between schools, families, and communities.
National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL). The NCFL is a nonprofit organization supporting family literacy services for families across the U.S. through programming, training, research, advocacy, and dissemination.
National Coalition for Parent Involvement. This useful site has a number of valuable articles, as well as links to additional tip sheets and resources.
Partnership for Family Involvement in Education (PFIE). The PFIE strives to build partnerships between businesses, community and religious organizations, and especially families and schools to support parent and employee involvement in education. The Partnership offers resources and ideas relevant to increasing family involvement in education.
Parent Information Resource Centers (PIRC). The 70 PIRCs across the country work closely with parents, educators, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships so that children can reach high academic standards.
Title I
U.S. ED: Student Achievement and School Accountability (SASA) (Title I). The SASA Office supports systemic efforts to improve academic achievement in schools that serve low-income communities. This is accomplished primarily through the administration of programs under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to improve teaching and learning in public schools throughout the nation.
Special Education
U.S. ED: Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network. The OSEP Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network coordinates services which offer information and technical assistance to state education agencies in the improvement of education programs, practices, and policies that affect children and youth with disabilities. The network also offers information to parents of children with disabilities.
Safe and Drug-Free
Safe and Drug-Free Schools (SDFS) Program. The SDFS Program is the federal government's primary vehicle for reducing violence and drug, alcohol, and tobacco use through education and prevention activities in our nation's schools and provides access to a variety of resources in this area.
Na Hoa Ho'ola (Partners Who Work To Bring Health). This Native Hawaiian Safe and Drug-Free program is part of Pacific Resources for Education and Learning's (PREL's) Native Hawaiian Center for Prevention Education, which primarily serves Native Hawaiians.
